Pokemon Guess Who Service Privacy Policy
We do not collect personal information from the user to the greatest extent reasonably possible to provide the Pokemon Guess Who service. The most variable information we collect is dependent on what the user enters into the chat box.
If a message is entered into the chat box, it is stored in a database for the sole purpose of providing the chat feature of the Pokemon Guess Who service. The message is not used for any other purpose, and is not shared with any third parties.
It may be accessible to anyone who has the game's link.
Do not enter any personally-identifiable information into the chat box. Any information entered into the chat box is done so at the user's own risk, and may be accessible to
anyone or deleted unpredictably. We are not responsible for any information entered into the chat box, and we do not guarantee that it will be kept private or secure.
We collect basic information about the game in order to store the track of it server-side. This is essential to the functioning of the game, and is not used for any other purpose.
We automatically clean up any games that have not had a recent move in the last 24 hours. Additionally, we will delete any games that have lasted more than 7 days unconditionally. This will delete any chat messages and game information. If you need
to delete information before that time, you may attempt to contact us via the email described in the "Contact" section of this website's main page.
Depending on server-side systems, we may log some information about the source IP address of connections and about the HTTP/HTTPS requests made to our server. We also use the Cloudflare service; please read
their privacy policy to understand what this entails.
We may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar systems to provide the service, but we do not use them to track users (beyond allowing the game to remember your role as Red, Blue or a Spectator) or collect personal information.
We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising services (although Cloudflare might).
This project relies heavily on the PokeAPI. The images and Pokedex content are covered by their license, which I have reproduced here
on 6/22/2023. We do not host any images from the PokeAPI (although we may directly provide some of the Pokemon metadata), and we do not claim ownership of any of the images or content from the PokeAPI. We do not claim ownership of any of the Pokemon names,
images, or content.
